The Writers Guild and shoppinggg.
Woo, day three! :D
Today was a lot more chill than our last two days. I woke up at 9:30 (it was almost like sleeping in! Although only for me, Alexandra woke up at 8) and I got showered and dressed and the LA crew headed out to the Spectrum (right? :P ) for shopping. It was essentially like a way more pretty Domain (mostly because it was in California with the now gorgeous weather). Alexandra and I did our own thing, wandering through Forever 21, Target, Barnes and Noble and a ton of other stores before stopping at Chipotle for noms (which was delish).
There were people with dogs everywhere. It’s apparently extremely trendy in California to take your dog with you wherever you go. It had its upsides though, adorable dogs at every corner! Yay.
We left at two and headed back to the dorms so everyone could get snazzied up for the Writers Guild event. We brought sexy back.
…And then headed to Rodeo Drive to wander and gaze longingly at their amazing and expensive stores. I saw an Aston Martin, a Bugatti Veyron, a Rolls Royce, and more Beemers, Mercedes, and Jags than I thought possible in one city block. People here are richrichrich. We went for dinner at Cafe Roma, a haughty taughty Italian restuarant were I got $20 rissotto. Yeah, insane but delicious.
And then it was off to the Writers Guild! Our guest was Bill Lawrence, with his wife, Christa Miller, who was playing mediator for the questioning. You probably don’t recognize him by name but he has written a lot of shows including: Spin City, Friends (season one), Clone High, Scrubs, and Cougar Town. His wife is also recognizable from Scrubs, she plays Doctor Cox’s wife. It was pretty insane listening to them talk and they were extremely funny together (the gum story will follow me forever).
Mr. Lawrence (yes, I’m adding “Mr”) had a lot of good advice for aspiring writers, including ALWAYS WRITE (*cough*James*cough*). He also singled out one of our LA Crew, David, for wearing shades indoors and told him he looked like something from the Terminator. It was hilarious.
Today was awesome. YAY! -
